Wormholt Park 'improved for those in property to rent in Hammersmith & Fulham'
A group in Shepherds Bush is hoping to improve Wormholt Park for those in property to rent in the London borough of Hammersmith & Fulham and other local residents.
The Friends of Wormholt Park will work with Hammersmith & Fulham Council to complete short-term projects in the area, such as the installation of extra litter bins, the planting of more roses and the addition of child-sized benches in the playgrounds.
Over the long run, the group intends to make more ambitious changes, such as resolving the park's litter problem and the improvement of its playground and sports facilities.
Greg Smith, cabinet member for residents' services at the council, said that 'friends of' groups are a good way for communities to improvement their local area.
"We are delighted that Wormholt Park now has its own group and we look forward to working closely with them over the coming years to improve this much-loved park," he commented.
Earlier this month, Hammersmith & Fulham Council announced that a new children's play area will be created in South Park, after input from a 'friends of' group dedicated to the area.
