Week of Peace for Haringey borough
The London borough of Haringey is to kick off a Week of Peace with a human chain between two Tube Stations.
The week will begin this Saturday (13th September) with a community festival before showing off an array of cultural talent - such as a theatre performance - over the following days.
Peace Week will then conclude with a Walk of Peace on the following Sunday (21st September) to coincide with World Peace Day.
Haringey Council cabinet member, councillor Nilgun Canver, told the Tottenham, Wood Green and Edmonton Journal: "These events will be fun and free for our community.
"I hope this will be one way of spreading the message that we have a peace loving and harmonious community in this borough and we want to keep it that way."
The London borough of Haringey is know for being popular with young families, who will often rent in the area due to its impressive facilities and proximity to Central London.
Haringey also recently discovered that it would be the site of a state-of-the-art NHS health centre.
