Popularity of home improvement 'on the rise'
Tenants may wish to discuss with their landlords the possibility of carrying out some home improvements in order to put their own stamp on their property.
Indeed, home improvement is becoming an increasingly popular pastime among Britons as the recession causes many people to put their plans to move up the property ladder on the backburner.
According to recent research by Aspect Maintenance, 70 per cent of Londoners plan to carry out some renovations to their property over the next 12 months.
Such news may prompt people looking for flats to rent in Wandsworth or elsewhere in London to enquire with their potential landlord if it will be possible for them to put their own stamp on their new home.
Commenting on the news, Jason Orme, editor of Homebuilding and Renovating Magazine, said: "I see no reason why people wouldn't be doing more work on their house in the next year."
