Nationwide: Property prices increase again
The price of property in the UK has increased again, according to new data published by Nationwide Building Society.
Homes in the UK inflated in value by 0.9 per cent between May and June, the research found.
Consumers have now seen the average property in the UK increase in price three times in the last four months.
With the cost of a home on the rise, people may find that a flat to rent in Epping Forest or a property to rent in Bromley is more within their budget.
Nationwide said that the average cost of a UK home in June was £156,442.
Martin Gahbauer, Nationwide's chief economist, remarked: "While it is encouraging to see that prices are no longer seeing steep falls, there are still many obstacles in the way of a genuine and sustainable price recovery."
Further information on house prices will be released by Halifax soon - last month this particular index noted a greater hike in property values than the survey published by Nationwide.
