London markets month to be launched
Those living near a London market could be in for a treat as London Markets' Month is to be launched this week.
The festival has been established to highlight and celebrate the role played by wholesale food markets in the capital - of which there are six - in supporting the meat industry in London, meatinfo.com reports.
Various events will take place at the markets, featuring products such as fish, fruit and vegetables.
Commenting on the month's festivities, the chairperson of the London food board Rosie Boycott said: "The wholesale markets of London allow consumers to access locally produced, top quality food at affordable prices."
One of the most popular market areas in the capital is in Camden, something that may interest people thinking of getting a flat or house to rent there.
According to the Camden Lock website, the fire that occurred in February this year has only affected the Camden Canal market, leaving the other five open as normal.
