Landlord and tenant relationships thriving, study shows
Consumers choosing to rent a property have been found to be enjoying a good relationship with landlords.
A poll of tenants, carried out by the Deposit Protection Service (DPS) revealed that more than eight out of ten feel they get on well with their landlord.
And with the London property market continuing to struggle, the results will be of interest to those thinking of renting a house or flat.
Director of the DPS Kevin Firth noted that the introduction of the scheme has reduced the number of disputes, adding: "It comes as no surprise that tenants and landlords are, in general, getting on."
Last month a survey by Paragon Mortgages found that renting is becoming an increasingly popular choice for consumers in the UK.
More than half of buy-to-let landlords questioned stated that tenant demand had been growing or booming during the third quarter of the year, while nearly 60 per cent predicted it would continue to grow over the next year.
