Huge regeneration project for east London
A further two major regeneration projects have been announced for East London, which could increase rental interest in the area.
The Docklands area of the capital will be the site of two regeneration schemes, for a total cost of £5.8 billion, which aim to revitalise the area in time for 2012 Olympic Games.
Specific areas that will see drastic improvements are Canning Town and Custom House, both in Newham borough, while the new Wood Wharf development in Tower Hamlets will also increase the borough's desirability.
Michael Hill, director of Countryside Properties, said: "We are progressing well with Newham Council in taking forward the first phase of the development, which will include
new homes and a new primary school."
In total, Newham borough will also see 10,000 new homes and regenerated town centres in Canning Town and Custom House.
Newham borough is also home to the University of East London and the ExCel Exhibition Centre.
