Cadbury's to sponsor Olympics
The London Olympics has had some sweet news with the disclosure that confectioner Cadbury's is to sponsor the games.
A two-tier sponsorship deal will be announced very soon, it has been widely reported, which will see the chocolate firm gaining marketing rights from January in return for a £20 million contribution to the Olympic budget.
The deal will help provide extra cash that could boost efforts to ensure there is a good legacy for London resulting from the games, with improvements in housing, employment and transport being particularly felt in the east of the capital.
Among those who could benefit from this are people who rent in boroughs such as Braking & Dagenham, Lewisham and Greenwich.
Cadbury's was a supporter of the British Olympic Appeal, which was set up to help the funding for the British team taking part in this year's Beijing games.
It also sponsored the last major multi-sports event in Britain, the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester.
