Waterloo ready for hotel boost
A new luxury hotel is to be opened in the Waterloo area, with developers tipping the project to help revitalise the area and draw in both tourists and property-seekers.
The Park Plaza County Hall hotel, near to Lambeth North and Waterloo Tube Stations, was set to open today, after a £100 million and two-year long construction project came to an end.
With 398 rooms and luxury facilities, the eye-catching Park Plaza development will add to health-led residential developments in nearby Founder's Place, helping to make the Waterloo area more than just a buzzing rail hub.
According to Travel Mole, general manager of the hotel, Philip Chambers said: "Park Plaza County Hall will be a big drawcard in bringing visitors and locals back to Waterloo.
"The hotel is in a busy and vibrant area, within walking distance to many attractions and Waterloo station."
Residents of the Waterloo area enjoy easy access to the South Bank and its array of concert halls, theatres and restaurants – as well as benefiting from an improving rental housing stock.
