Wandsworth redevelopment plans move ahead
Wandsworth Council has announced that plans are moving forward for a large property development in the Ransome's Dock area.
The L-shaped area is expected to provide 159 flats in buildings ranging from three to 11 storeys in height.
The development will also provide a number of shops, restaurants, cafes and other commercial units.
Those interested in renting flats in the London borough will also benefit from artists studios, a public piazza, dockside walkway and basement and surface car parking.
"Wandsworth Council's strong support for the proposals recognises the considerable regeneration benefits that will be delivered on this currently underused site," Judith Livesey of Nathaniel Lichfield and Partner told Haymarket.
The area around the Battersea development has reportedly attracted the interest of high-profile designer Vivienne Westwood.
The Royal College of Art is also looking to expand its campus in Battersea and the flats are the perfect rental opportunity for students.
