Wandsworth borough gets behind eco-chimney scheme
The plan to construct a 300-metre high 'eco-chimney' on the site of Battersea Power Station is finding favour with the public and local authorities.
The £4 billion scheme will also include 800,000 square metres of space for apartments, a hotel and a six acre park.
The construction of new apartments will no doubt encourage people to consider Battersea, in Wandsworth borough, an ideal location to rent a new home.
Robert Tincknell, managing director of Real Estate Opportunities, told Reuters: "Eleven thousand people have visited the exhibition site, with 2,500 alone last Saturday.
"We're confident that as more people learn about the project and become aware of its 'green' credentials it will gain support."
Wandsworth borough in South London also boasts a large array of restaurants, pubs and bars, as well as excellent transport links in the form of Clapham Junction rail station.
Research published by Nationwide yesterday revealed that property prices had decline in price by the largest amount for nearly 20 years.
