Urban development project for Greenwich
The London borough of Greenwich will shortly be the site of a major urban regeneration scheme.
Approval has recently been given for the transformation of the former Greenwich District Hospital into nearly 650 new homes.
The properties being built in the area will also be some of the UK's first eco-homes, with much of their required energy coming from on-site biomass generators.
The scheme, Heart of East Greenwich, will be a collaboration between urban development and investment company, First Base, and the national regeneration agency, English Partnerships.
With wider redevelopment schemes cropping up all over East London, the borough of Greenwich is set to play a major part in the capital's anticipated renting boom.
Across the capital in West London, the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham is also expected to attract large numbers of new renters with the opening of the much-anticipated Westfield Shopping Centre.
