'Try property to rent in London before buying'
Homebuyers are being encouraged to try before they buy when it comes to getting on the housing ladder.
A number of schemes around the country, including some involving flats to rent in Hammersmith and Fulham, are allowing consumers to rent out property with the aim of buying it later down the line.
The Independent reports that the Acton development in question is proving popular with some would-be property buyers.
Shepherd's Bush Housing Association, which is involved in the scheme, is offering flats to rent in Hammersmith and Fulham for below current market prices as an incentive to save cash for a purchase.
Over the last few months, despite house prices coming down considerably, many first-time buyers have still found renting to be the best option as mortgage finance is hard to come by.
It has resulted in demand for rental property in London and the UK as a whole remaining strong.
