'Tesco Town' gets approval
People considering looking for property to rent in London may be interested to know about plans for a 'Tesco Town' to be built Bromley-by-Bow, after they were approved by local authorities.
The London Thames Gateway Development Corporation, which is driving to bring economic growth the areas in the east of the city, said the area has been "crying out for change" and is now going to get it, PublicPropertyUK reports.
Supermarket chain Tesco is leading the mixed-use development, which will include a new store and more than 450 homes in the surrounding area, with the first-phase of construction set to be complete by 2012.
LTGDC has eight key projects in areas dotted along north bank of the River Thames heading out towards the Estuary and south Essex.
The potential job opportunities that could up in Bromley-by-Bow's new Tesco Town may encourage more people to consider looking for property to rent in the London borough of Tower Hamlets or in nearby areas.
