Tenants 'still in strong position'
As the property market begins to stabilise again, more of the reluctant landlords created by the recession are finding themselves in a better position in which to sell again, new research has found.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) has revealed that less rental opportunities are coming on to the market.
However, people looking for property to rent in Camden may be pleased to hear that Simon Rubinsohn, chief economist at RICS, told the BBC that tenants were still in a "relatively strong" position, in contrast to two years ago.
Chris Norris, of the National Landlords Association, also told the news provider: "People who may not have been totally prepared for all the responsibilities of letting properties now have options to sell and do not feel pressurised into the private rented sector."
Communities and Local Government recently proposed that tenants living in properties the owners of which are in financial difficulties should have more legal rights.
