'Students demand' luxury property to rent in London
Some university students are paying £500 a week on property to rent in London, a newspaper has revealed.
Many university students are no longer happy to pay for low-quality property and instead, are spending thousands every year on property to rent in London with features including flat-screen TVs and dishwashers, the Times noted.
Exclusive studio flats are increasing in popularity and many people do not mind paying high rent in order to live in comfortable surroundings.
For some, this is because they no longer want to share and would prefer to live alone, especially if they are undertaking difficult courses and need time and space.
David Pank, the Yorkshire regional chairman of the Estate Agent Manning Stainton, told the publication: "Private providers tend to charge more, but, before, students had nowhere near as much choice. Now they are demanding a lot more in terms of standards."
As the university term prepares to get underway, now could be the time where people step up their search for property to rent in London.
Educational establishments in the capital include the University of Westminster and Imperial College London.
