Renting 'the key to easier living'
Renting a home makes sense for people who are looking to secure a no-hassle, easy lifestyle, one sector commentator has claimed.
James Davis, chief executive officer of upad.co.uk, said 2010 is likely to be a good year for landlords, with plenty of opportunities around for purchasing property and more and more tenants coming to the market.
He added that it is "smart people" who are currently renting because it fitted into a flexible working lifestyle.
Such may be the thinking of Britons looking for flats to rent in Shoreditch or another part of London so they can benefit from a base in the capital without the worry of taking on an expensive mortgage.
"[Renting] gives you that flexibility to upgrade when you want and not being burdened with boiler and roof repairs and it makes sense for an easier living," Mr Davis said.
His comments come after the National Landlords Association said renting is no longer the "ugly sister" of the property market, adding that more people are now looking to renting as a simpler and more flexible alternative to owning a home.
