Property prices 'unpredictable'
house prices in London are increasing and leading to prices across the rest of the UK to rise as well, it has been suggested.
Writing for the Times, Ann Ashworth states there has been a resurgence in buying property in the south-east and in particular in London.
She continues: "The buoyancy of Clapham, Fulham, Wandsworth and the capital's other scrubbed-up south-west suburbs, with their period properties, good schools, cafes and parks [are seeing renewed interest]."
With this in mind, Britons may find that property to rent in Fulham and other London boroughs is a more budget-friendly alternative to buying.
Ms Ashworth notes that some tenants are currently feeling so positive about their situation they are considering moving into larger rented accommodation.
Recent research by Nationwide has revealed that there has been an increase in rental properties available, with the BBC's economic editor Stephanie Flanders stating that she hopes young people will soon be able to benefit from affordable homes again.
