Phil Spencer: Property maintenance is important
Property maintenance should be viewed in the same way as people care for their health, one TV property expert has asserted - stating that prevention is "always better than cure".
Channel 4's Location, Location, Location presenter Phil Spencer said that it makes sense to take care of property and yet for many people it continued to be low down on their list of priorities.
Speaking as part of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings' annual National Maintenance Week, the property surveyor added that this was despite the fact that maintenance could see people saving money in the future.
"In the long-run regular maintenance of your home is far less intrusive and expensive than letting it fall into disrepair and then having to fix it up again," he added.
Britons looking for property to rent in Shoreditch or another part of London may wish to ensure that it is well maintained by the landlord.
This can include having at least one boiler service a year, according to Gas Safe Register.
