"Outstanding" education in London
Schools in the London boroughs of Westminster, Bromley, Barnet, Camden and Southwark have been praised for their provision of excellent education over the last 15 years.
The latest annual report from Ofsted has revealed that schools in these boroughs have consistently achieved high marks over the past three inspections.
Chief inspector of Ofsted Christine Gilbert paid tribute to all the people that have contributed to the success of the top schools.
"Congratulations are also particularly deserved for those schools and colleges, categorised as outstanding in each of their inspection reports over the past 15 years," he remarked
Overall 175 schools in the capital were deemed to be outstanding over the last year of inspections, as well as 260 childcare providers, four colleges and one adult learning provider.
Meanwhile, Southwark borough council has awarded a contract to Balfour Beatty's Transform Schools subsidiary to provide new schools across the area.
