Olympic park details unveiled
Details have been revealed of how the London Olympic Park in Stratford will look once the transformation of it is complete.
While the world will be looking at London's Olympic facilities in the park, including the main stadium and aquatic centre, the facility will consist of large areas of cultivated parkland and also wetland designed to attract and nurture wildlife.
London mayor Boris Johnson said: "As a direct result of hosting the 2012 Games, London gets this fantastic green space in the heart of East London."
The creation of the park - the largest new urban park established in Europe for 150 years - may mean a lasting legacy is in place for those living in East London, including those who rent a flat or house in the area.
According to the Olympic delivery authority, up to 180,000 people will enter the park each day during the games.
