Olympic organisers set to employ more staff in next two years
The chief financial office of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games (LOCOG) believes it can deliver the event on budget as it starts to recruit more staff.
Accountancy Age is reporting that LOCOG is to increase the number of staff from 600 that it currently employs, up to 3,000 people before the beginning of the Games.
Despite the HR director of London 2012 Jean Tomlin recently suggesting that it was difficult sourcing qualified accountants with "strong commercial experience", LOCOG has hired a number as "secondees" through Deloitte.
Its chief financial officer Neil Wood did say that certain senior roles would be advertised on the open market and applicants would require "lots of resilience" as the event draws ever closer.
He also said that the Olympics would stay within its £2 billion "funding envelope".
News of more jobs coming to London ahead of the 2012 Olympics will almost certainly be of interest to people looking for property to rent in the London borough of Lambeth, or elsewhere in the city.
