New scheme for residents of property to rent in Camden
A new initiative from Camden Council and the Corgi Trust is offering aid to residents of the North London borough, which includes people in property to rent in Camden.
Free carbon monoxide detectors and consequent free installation is being offered to the community.
Eligible Camden residents are those who are over 60 years old or disabled, or who have children under the age of five and are receiving benefits.
James King, executive member of community safety at Camden Council, said: "This is an excellent initiative which could potentially save lives."
He added that he is "delighted" to be collaborating with the Corgi Trust in a scheme that will help vulnerable residents.
Would-be tenants of flats to rent in London should always ensure they request gas safety certificates from their landlords before they move into their new homes - it is a legal requirement for property owners to maintain gas appliances.
