New library 'will benefit residents' of property in Hammersmith
A new library is set to benefit those living in property in Hammersmith & Fulham, the local authority has announced.
The state-of-the-art facility, situated in Westfield London, is due to open over the summer and is intended to attract people who might otherwise not visit a library.
Paul Bristow, cabinet member for residents' services at Hammersmith & Fulham Council, explained that Shepherds Bush Library will be one of the "most innovative" in the UK.
Those who choose flats to rent in Hammersmith will find that WiFi internet access and music mixing software are among the offerings, as well as a Workzone area that will provide job seekers with interview facilities.
"It has been designed specifically to cater for our residents' needs, which are continually changing as more and more technical advances are made," said Mr Bristow of the library.
Earlier this month, the council noted that the opening of the Westfield shopping centre has created many job opportunities that are being filled by local residents.
