Mayor pledges to make London 'an even better place to live'
Tenants living in property to rent in Bexley or flats to rent in Waltham Forest could be among the Londoners to benefit from a new campaign launched by Mayor Boris Johnson.
In a statement released this week, he revealed that he wants to make London an even more attractive place to live, work and visit.
Mr Johnson aims to do this by requesting the capital's boroughs to submit ideas on how the city's public spaces can be revitalised.
It comes as the different regions of London have been working towards their In Bloom campaigns to brighten up their areas.
Dubbed Great Spaces, the latest initiative was launched at property conference MIPIM back in the spring, but now the mayor hopes to gather some more ideas on how to improve London.
Ideas for projects could lead to the individual boroughs receiving a share of the £200,000 put aside for the project.
Architect and master planner Sir Terry Farrell said: "I fully support Boris Johnson's latest commitment to revitalise some of the capital's unique public spaces. For too many years the focus of creating new urban spaces has been towards inner London."
