London City Airport wins award
London City Airport has been recognised with an award for increasing its passenger numbers last year.
The 21-year old airport, based in Newham in East London, was given the European Regions Airline Association (Era) Airport Achievement Award for raising its passenger numbers by 23 per cent in 2007.
It was also commended for efficient internal planning and service delivery standards.
Commenting on the award at Era's annual dinner in Manchester, the airport's chief executive Richard Gooding said: "We are committed to continuing to deliver a premium service to passengers as London's favourite airport and supporting London's status as financial capital of the world."
The growth of the airport may be another reason for people to seek to rent in nearby areas of London, including boroughs such as Greenwich and Lewisham.
Both of these boroughs are served by the Docklands Light Railway, which also connects with the airport.
