Kensington and Chelsea parks get Green Flag
Popular parks in the London borough of Kensington and Chelsea have been awarded the prestigious Green Flag award.
Holland Park has been awarded the accolade for the eighth time in a row, with Kensington Memorial Park celebrating its second victory, reports 24dash.com.
"Holland Park and Kensington Memorial Park are two of the most wonderful public spaces in the borough," councillor Nicholas Paget-Brown told the website.
"Lots of us enjoy using them and I'm delighted that they continue to be recognised on a national level," he added.
With the borough playing host to so many beautiful parks, it is no wonder that rental yields have seen an increase over the last six months.
Now is a good time to think about renting property in London as landlords are being forced to cut rents as the credit crunch hits.
A homeowner in Chelsea told the Evening Standard that his house was taking £2,700 per week in rent last year and is now taking offers for £2,000 per week in rent.
The Green Flag recognises the best green spaces in England and Wales. Kensington and Chelsea council said it hopes to have more parks winning the award in the coming years.
