How to achieve cheaper Christmas bills
With Christmas fast approaching, consumers may be concerned about where they will find the money to cover festive presents and seasonal celebrations, along with energy bills - which typically rise during the winter.
Luckily, help is at hand from the Norwich Evening News, which notes there are a number of ways that people can ensure their utilities bills are not sky-high this year.
The news provider states simple actions such as closing the curtains at dusk can help a property to retain heat, meaning residents do not have to be as reliant on their central heating.
Furthermore, people should only boil as much water in the kettle as they need, as if everybody did this, the newspaper claims enough electricity would be saved to power street lighting around the country for almost seven months.
Keeping central heating thermostats running at between 18 and 21 degrees Celsius is another way listed as helping towards cheaper bills.
Such advice may be beneficial to people looking for property to rent in Shoreditch or another part of London, where homes to buy are usually expensive.
The Energy Saving Trust also recommends that landlords invest in a condensing boiler and insulation if they wish to save their tenants money.
