Haringey Council plans congestion solutions
Residents of the London borough of Haringey are being consulted over measures to ease congestion, the council has announced.
Those living in West Green and Bruce Grove are being invited to air their views as plans are drawn up to improve various traffic issues.
Parking is expected to be a major concern, with focus groups late last year highlighting apprehension about white vans filling residential streets.
Head of sustainable transport at Haringey Council Joan Hancox explained: "We've taken on board the concerns of residents and local businesses and their feedback will help us to propose the best solutions for … traffic congestion in each street and area."
Proposals include the use of double yellow lines, in order to help the flow of traffic in specific places identified as suffering from congestion.
Transport for London recently announced that investment would be made in car clubs - which allow vehicles to be hired on a pay-as-you-go basis - in a bid to help reduce congestion in the capital.
