Funding boost for children living in property in Hammersmith
Hammersmith children will be able to enjoy summer activities after the council designated a grant for the purpose.
Hammersmith & Fulham Council gave £4,000 to Old Oak Communities and Children's Centre and £4,250 to the Brunswick Club for young people.
The latter organisation is spending its grant on new table tennis equipment and coaching for those who want it.
For the community and children's centre, the grant will fund activities in the summer.
"The children of Old Oak look forward to the activities we organise and it's wonderful news that they've got another summer of fun to enjoy," said senior community centre officer Jackie Walton.
Other residents of flats to rent in Hammersmith might benefit from the £1,000 going to Hammersmith Community Gardens Association.
The council is also launching a Youthink campaign over the summer to enable young people to join in activities such as dance, drama and even cadet forces.
