Flats to rent in London news: Olympics countdown begins
People wanting to find flats to rent in London may be moving to an exciting place, as the countdown to the Olympic Games began on Friday.
The London 2012 Open Weekend ran for three days and allowed people to get involved with sporting challenges to celebrate the fact that the Olympic and Paralympic Games will start in two years' time.
Sites around the country, including Plymouth, Swansea and Manchester, showed films such as Cool Runnings, a 1993 film about the Jamaican bobsled team at the Winter Olympics.
The Games have inspired regeneration in many places around the city, including the transport system, as the Olympic Delivery Authority has announced that it hopes all spectators arrive at the venues either by walking, cycling or public transport.
London 2012 chair Seb Coe said he hoped families would enjoy the weekend's activities, which also involved dancing, cycling and kayaking.
"Open Weekend 2010 is another opportunity for thousands of people to join in with the London 2012 Games," he added.
