Fitrovia 'strikes work-life balance'
According to the Times Online, the Central London area of Fitzrovia defies the London trend and is both commercial and residential – making it a great place to rent or buy a home.
The lively corner of the borough of Westminster is not affected by the noise of neighbouring Oxford Street, claimed the newspaper, allowing it to experience only the positives of a well-connected central location.
Running from north to south between the Euston Road and Oxford Street, while caged in by Tottenham Court Road to the east and Great Portland Street to the west, the area boasts its own less chaotic hubs like Charlotte Street and Fitzroy Square, achieving a rare commercial-residential balance.
Jonathan Hudson, managing director of Hudsons Property, told the Times: "Fitzrovia offers a lively mix of life and work. There are media firms, the remains of the rag trade which used to be a big feature of this area, and more and more galleries.
"Plus there is a wide range of property owners - young families, singletons, the wealthy of every description."
But prices of all property in the area are not cheap, with advertising company, Aegis Media setting a Fitzrovia record this week after agreeing to lease 18,837 sq ft of office space for £1.1m a year.
