Do research when looking at flats to rent, tenants advised
People looking for flats to rent in the London borough of Merton have been encouraged to do their research before making any decisions.
Mark Garner, director and founder of LettingZone, said that when consumers have decided which area they would like to live in, they should start to shop around.
This will enable them to find the best property for their money, he explained.
Similarly, it is also a good idea to extend the search area a little, as the outskirts of their chosen region could give people more for their money, Mr Garner continued.
"With the house price market looking at heading lower I see no real change in the letting market for certainly the next six months," the expert stated.
LSL Property Services recently reported that despite concerns about the economic downturn in the UK, 84 per cent of landlords experienced stable or falling rental arrears over the past year.
