Desirable flats to rent in London coming with regeneration?
There may be more flats to rent in London after a publication today revealed the extent of the Royal Docks regeneration.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson and Mayor of Newham Sir Robin Wales have prepared the Vision for the Royal Docks, which aims to make the area "an outstanding place to live, work, play and stay".
The docks stopped handling cargo in 1981 and building work began five years later, according to the Royal Docks Trust.
Authorities have now said they will work with the government to create desirable high-quality residential development, as well as creating "local town centres" for a sense of community.
The site may attract attention over the coming years as the second-largest Olympic venue and the two mayors have said it has other "huge advantages" in being near London City Airport, the O2 Centre and land that is due to be built on soon.
Crossrail will open a new station in 2017, allowing easy access to the wider area.
