Croydon bus staff recognised for quality service
Metrobus staff in Croydon have been recognised for the service given to passengers in the borough.
Transport for London (TFL) honoured the Service Quality Team for its efforts through the London Service Quality Award this week.
Managing director of surface transport at TFL David Brown explained that all operators in the capital are set stringent performance targets in order to ensure efficient running for residents.
"That the Croydon Service Quality Team consistently beat our targets is evidence of their commitment to providing a well run bus service," he remarked.
Reasons for the award were cited as being punctual and reliable services, as well as ensuring passengers make it to destinations as quickly as possible.
TFL recently announced that a new bus station had been opened in Beckton, in the borough of Newham.
Aimed at improving comfort and safety for residents, it is served by ten different routes and has 24-hour digital CCTV surveillance.
