Could river clean-up make flats to rent in London more appealing?
People looking at flats to rent in the London borough of Hammersmith & Fulham may be pleased to know they could be living in a clean area if they decide to move house.
On August 14th, a team of volunteers lent a hand to give part of the region's river bank a once-over.
Nearly 100 people took part in the Cleaner Thames Challenge to tidy up the sand near Broomhouse Lane and Hurlingham Park.
Organised by Thames21 - a waterways charity - the event was one of a regular series of clean-ups to improve the environment across the city.
Among the items that were pulled from the water during the operation in Fulham was a metal shopping trolley.
Similar events are also taking place on the Isle of Dogs.
Elsewhere in the borough, people seeking employment have been helped to find work in Westfield shopping centre by a new workers on a new desk in Shepherds Bush Library.
