Could improving conditions make flats to rent in London more appealing?
There could be more flats to rent in London as the property situation for buy-to-let landlords is improving in the UK, according to one expert.
David Whittaker, managing director at Mortgages for Business, explained some may experience difficulties because of the need for robust credit profiles.
However, compared to last year, more products are now available and lenders are beginning to improve their buy-to-let borrowing criteria, he continued.
Similarly, providers are no longer concerned about what other companies are doing, as high levels of competition no longer exist in the market.
"Obviously they have targets and plans to achieve but they don't react too quickly to what other lenders are doing," Mr Whittaker said.
His comments come after the latest Upad Rental Confidence Index revealed 62 per cent of landlords are more confident about their prospects in August than they were during the previous month.
However, there may still be a lack of available finance for some.
