Construction worries could encourage some to rent flats in London
More people may be thinking of looking for property to rent in the London borough of Greenwich after one expert predicted that the building industry may suffer greatly as a result of significant government spending cuts.
Dave Lowery, reporter at Construction News, suggested that the measures are likely to hit hardest in a year or two when current orders for materials that have already been signed by customers are completed.
His warnings for the industry come despite the latest figures from the Construction Products Association and Ernst and Young that showed sales of products were at their highest level for three years.
Mr Lowery said: "I think it is easy to get carried away with it when really it is just an improvement from an incredibly low level."
People may also be thinking about renting flats in London after the Times recently reported that new planning rules may impact on housing construction and industry expert Anne Ashworth noted that first-time buyers should not have expected to receive any boost from the government.
