Bayswater: Fantasy London living
Background
Bayswater lies in one of the glamorous areas of the capital and is a perfect home for people looking to enjoy the high life, with the scenic surroundings of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens to enjoy.
Situated in the London borough of City of Westminster, with some parts forming the western part of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, it is graced with an array of fine Georgian terraces and has some of the most desirable places to live in the country.
Bayswater also offers excellent transport links connecting commuters with key parts of the capital.
Furthermore, there is an variety of fine cuisine to suit a range of tastes and a selection of high class, exclusive night spots, not to mention being comfortably within of many of the city's top attractions and amenities.
Property
As one might expect, with homes in the area being both in demand and of a high quality, the cost of buying one is easily among the highest in the UK, significantly above the national average, which the May figures from the Land Registry put at £165,314.
This data revealed that prices in the London borough of City of Westminster stand at £627,311 for that month, which represents an increase of more than £95,000 or over 15 per cent in just 12 months.
When broken down, anyone thinking of purchasing may decide against such an investment with detached properties costing £1,386,881, a semi-detached £1,383,344 and a terraced at £1,320,693.
And, although a maisonette or flat in the area is worth just £590,274, this is still more than 3.5 times the UK average value.
It is perhaps easy to see why property to rent in Bayswater can be seen as a more affordable option to take.
For example, a studio pad in the area can set a prospective tenant back as little as £451 per calendar month, while the typical cost of a one-bedroom flat in this grand part of London is around £1,820.
A two-bedroom abode is usually priced at about £2,570 and a three-bed place approximately £4,274.
Transport
Thanks to its central location, residents who rent in Bayswater are well connected to other areas of the city, with the local underground station being on the Circle and District Lines, which means much of London is almost on the doorstep, whether it is for work or play.
In addition, Paddington terminal is convenient walk away, which is good news for those heading out of the capital to see friends and family or even heading to the airport to venture to sunnier climes as the Heathrow Express runs a regular service from here.
Amenities
Those living in Bayswater are unlikely to be disappointed in terms of places to go and things to do, with an array of places on offer.
In terms of visitor attractions, any of the museums, galleries or exhibitions across Central London may, at worst, be a short hop on the Tube away. But, perhaps thankfully, these destinations are not all in the immediate area, which means a bit of piece and quiet when required.
Residents will be spoiled for choice in terms of options for retail therapy, with the boutiques of Chelsea in close proximity and the major shopping district around Oxford Street within reach.
There are also a variety of restaurants and nightspots to venture to, including some of the capital's most critically acclaimed eateries.
With all this available to potential tenants, surely it is worth considering property to rent in Bayswater?
