Advice issued for student renters
Students looking for property to rent in Islington or flats to rent in Camden, as well as lettings in other parts of London, may benefit from some guidance issued by price comparison website Confused.com.
According to the portal, it makes sense for students to start sorting out term-time residences now and there are a number of ways to save money with their homes.
People moving into new rented properties should apparently ask their landlord who is responsible for the utility bills over the summer - and then switch to a tariff that does not have a standing charge.
Often students end up paying bills even if they leave their homes empty over the holiday period, it would seem.
The summer also provides an ideal opportunity to get to know gas, electricity and water meters, according to the portal, and promptly setting up an account with providers of these services is advised.
Universities are located across London - such as City University in Islington and the School of Oriental and African Studies in Camden - which means there is a wide student population in the capital.
