How to keep rats at bay

How to keep rats at bayThe ongoing cold snap the UK has been experiencing has not only seen many Britons choosing to spend more time sheltering indoors, but also large numbers of vermin, it has been warned.

According to Confused.com, when it is cold outside, rats and mice are more likely to seek shelter by invading people's homes.

As a result, it is urging Britons to take precautions to ensure they do not give such pests an open invite.

Exterior doors should be kept closed wherever possible, the price comparison site asserts.

However, in the case of people living in rented accommodation which is shared by a number of residents, this may not always be possible.

In this case, the site advised tenants to keep each of their internal doors shut to prevent any rats who me be lurking inside from having a "free reign" of the building.

People can also help to keep rats away by securely throwing out any left over food and making sure their outdoor bins are not overflowing.

Britons looking for flats to rent in Eltham or another part of London may wish to talk with their perspective Landlord about what precautions have been taken to ensure the property stays vermin-free, which could include if a cleaner is employed for the communal areas.
