Haringey council welcomes property pledge
Haringey Council has claimed that the people living in the borough "deserve decent housing".
Council leader Claire Kober made the comments after the government announced this week that more affordable housing will be constructed in the UK over the coming years.
It was revealed that some £1.5 billion will be invested in creating around 20,000 new properties across the country - and Ms Kober has suggested that Haringey will be "fighting hard" to gets its portion of homes.
"We are already tackling this, with new homes, action on empty properties and £40 million investment improving council housing," she explained.
Residents of property to rent in Haringey and those who live in other residences may wish to live in some of the most sought-after London regions of Muswell Hill, Crouch End or Highgate.
People from the borough also have Tottenham Hotspur's ground on their doorstep, as well as music venue Alexandra Palace.
