Free health course for Camden residents
Camden Council has announced that those living in the London borough can now take advantage of free course designed to help them get healthier.
Shape-Up is an eight-week programme organised by the council and the borough's primary care trust.
Open to adults with a body mass index of 25 or over, it is intended to provide information and motivation to lose weight and get fit through a change in eating habits and increase in physical activity.
"Those in most need of changing their lifestyles tend to find it the hardest, which is why we offer Shape-Up," said executive member for culture Flick Rea, adding that the scheme will help people "reach their goals and live healthier lifestyles for good".
Last month Camden Council launched its Green Transport Strategy, which is designed to improve the quality and safety of the air in the borough through measures such as cycle hire schemes.
