Demand for flats to rent in London continues
Tenant demand for flats to rent in London continues to grow and shows no sign of abating, according to new research.
Savills Research suggests that undergraduate student applications are up nine per cent this year, which has resulted in the growth rate of potential university accommodation students outpacing new supply of accommodation by a factor of 15 in London.
It all means that student accommodation is one of the areas of the property investment market that is holding up better than others, reports Property Wire.
"An underlying supply/demand imbalance points to a robust outlook for the sector, while the fundamental strengths of the business model mean that capital values have not fallen to the same degree as other commercial or residential real estate," explained Jacqui Daly, director of Savills Research.
Students have many areas of London to choose from for accommodation with universities located in a number of boroughs such as Islington, Westminster and Camden.
