Camden council launches recycling scheme
Camden Council has announced the introduction of a new scheme to help residents recycle electrical items.
Those living in the London borough will be able to put items such as mobile phones and mp3 players in special envelopes and post them, thanks to a partnership with Royal Mail.
Under the Simply Drop initiative, consumers will also be able to take goods directly to Post Office branches.
And those choosing to recycle are set to earn cash in return, as at least £5 is on offer for a working product, while as much as £120 could be awarded in some cases.
Leader of Camden Council Keith Moffitt described the scheme as "exciting", adding: "It will not only help keep unwanted items out of landfill sites, it will also help bring in extra cash for residents after the holidays."
Last week the borough council launched a free course designed to help residents learn about healthy eating habits and increasing physical activity.
