Mayfair is situated between Oxford Street, Regents Street, Piccadilly and Park Lane in the very centre of the city. The name Mayfair comes from the 15 day fair that was previously held in the area.

The fair was stopped by the aristocratic citizens of Mayfair because they felt it was attracting undesirable people from poorer areas of London.
